Looking for some soul-soothing inspiration to add to your nighttime routine? How about some relaxing music for sleep? Then you came to the right place!
In my previous post, 20+ Bedtime Rituals to Master Your Nighttime Routine, I mentioned how just listening to relaxing music can make you feel all warm, fuzzy and ready for dreamland. And therefore thought it would be awesome to share some go-to’s in the wide realm of soothing sleepy tunes.
I started this blog because I wanted a platform to share all things positive, with all things positive kinda people 🙂 And I believe these playlists are just that, a peaceful and positive addition to your nighttime routine.
Experience how the tones fill up space, transforming it into a safe haven for a deep and rejuvenating sleep.
These playlists are all available on the Spotify music streaming platform. My daily go-to platform for all kinds of music. I use it to create unique playlists for my dance classes, it’s the DJ at my dinner parties, my best friend on a trip…. *sigh*
This is in no way an affiliate post for Spotify, I’m just sharing because I honestly think they’re great! I’m a very happy and content premium member for years now, and probably will be for many more to come!
Without spilling too many words, I suggest dimming the lights, taking a lovely warm shower and playing one of these magical playlists.
But wait, first a MEGA sleep self-care hack that’s worth the investment!
Ok ok, I know I said I would get to you with those playlists, however, I first need to share these products with you that will bring these playlists to the next level.
Next level? Yes, without a doubt! In other words, A MEGA self-care hack.
And…. it’s the speaker! The device you’ll use to listen to these gems of playlists.
The Bluetooth speaker we live by
I highly recommend the JBL FLIP 4 / JBL FLIP 5.
Why? Because it’s compact, portable, cheap, provides high-quality music… and maybe my most favorite reason: it’s waterproof! Yes, you read correct, WATER-PROOF. The ultimate hack?
Listen to music like never before… under the shower or whilst relaxing in a steaming hot bath… without the worry of it breaking or being electrified.
I can’t even phantom how divine it is, every – single – time!
So basically, whether you’re listening in the shower or in bed, there are no limits!
It’s pretty obvious, I’m grateful beyond words for this marvelous piece of technology. In addition, (no shame here), I even have the extra-large version of this speaker (JBL Extreme 2) for larger (outdoor) parties or even performances. Oh, and they come in all different kinds of colors… triple yay!
The Bluetooth Headphones we live by
Ok, I hear you, what if you live in a shared apartment, or simply don’t want to blast the Tibetan bowls playlist?
Meaning, you’re interested in a more private and intimate device to tune into. I totally get that and then my go-to set of headphones is the BOSE Quietcomfort Noise Canceling Headphones. They are divine in their own way, also blue tooth, noise-canceling (really great!), and superb quality of music. A must-have for HSP!
I talk more about them here: 10+ Essential Travel Hacks For Highly Sensitive People as they help me create my safe place anyplace, anywhere.
Back to business, the playlists jammed with relaxing music for sleep are on your way.

Relaxing Music for Sleep
1 Peaceful Retreat
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX1T2fEo0ROQ2″/]”Relaxing and salutary ambient music”
According to the dictionary, ambient music is a genre of music that emphasizes tone and atmosphere over traditional musical structure or rhythm. It’s a form of slow instrumental music, it uses repetitive, but gentle, soothing sound patterns that can be described as sonic wallpaper to complement or alter one’s space and to generate a sense of calmness.
To summarize, say bye-bye to beats and settle directly into the relaxing mood after pressing play.
2 Binaural Beats: Delta Brainwaves
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX0gdPaTnsXKL”/]”Low tones with sound frequencies that promote brainwaves associated with deep sleep”
I love binaural beats as the potential benefits include: reduced stress, reduced anxiety, increased focus, increased concentration, increased motivation, increased confidence, and deeper meditation.
Like, WOW right?! Where have binaural beats been all my life?
Binaural beats therapy is an emerging form of soundwave therapy in which the right and left ears listen to two slightly different frequency tones yet perceive the tone as one. Therefore, to fully experience the binaural magic, listen to it in stereo with headphones on.
In my research, I also found out that they have discovered multiple binaural beats patterns, all with their own ”effectiveness”. #nerdforlife
For example, delta patterns are associated with deep and dreamless sleep. Theta patterns are associated with REM sleep, meditation, and creativity. Alpha patterns encourage relaxation and Beta patterns can promote concentration and alertness.
I find the subject really interesting, and binaural beats have certainly brought me to sleep before. So if you would like to read more about it I highly recommend this article from Medical News Today where they elaborate on the subject!
3 Gentle Rains
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX2mFmJUZg4Mp”/]”Fall asleep to the soothing sounds of gentle rains”
Anyone else here who loves the sounds of rain? Or is it just me?
I guess I love it so much because it brings me back to very relaxed and peaceful memories. Like the rainy Sunday afternoons as a kid, cuddling up on the sofa with a blanket, a cup of hot cocoa and a good movie. Priceless.
4 Dreamy Vibes
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DWSiZVO2J6WeI”/]”Hypnotic Bliss”
An overall more melodious ambient playlist compared to the ones shared above. This playlist particularly creates space for quiet reflection and stillness. If this doesn’t classify as relaxing music for sleep, what does?
Titles such as sunset breeze, desert pulse, and sleep navigator already make me sleepy and thus just scrolling is surprisingly soothing.
5 Sleepy Piano
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX03b46zi3S82″/]”Calm piano music for sleeping”
This playlist is currently filled with 222 songs, with more than 10 hours of calm piano tracks.
Very zzzen, and definitely deserves a spot on the this list of relaxing music for sleep.

6 Stargazer
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX1SGz4XfZKy2″/]”Instrumental playlist inspired by the Arabs that influenced astronomy”
Heads up: This playlist is a bit more upbeat than the others on this list. Yet it is another gem of a playlist.
Close your eyes and imagine yourself immersing in a fairytale of one thousand and one nights. Or fantasize of the immense starry nights one would see in the desert.
Need I say more? You get it. A playlist to dream off into.
7 Classical Lullabies
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX8Sz1gsYZdwj”/]”Tenderly loving and baby-friendly classical music that’s perfect for bedtime listening, from the most famous (Brahms’ lullaby, Debussy’s Clair de lune) to dozen of lesser-known gems”
Who says that we, supposedly adults, can’t listen to lullabies? Not me!
Calming classical music has such a depth to it, it’s magical, intricate, yet so pure.
I’m sure you’ve heard that quite some studies have proven that listening to classical music calms you, reduces anxiety, lessens stress… So what you’re waiting for?
Ease into the classics whilst preparing for sleepy time.
8 Jazz for Sleep
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DXa1rZf8gLhyz”/]”Let these beautiful jazz tracks lull you to sleep”
If the classics aren’t your thing, maybe this playlist with relaxing music for sleep, filled with slow, intense jazzy tunes will do the trick.
Also, without a doubt the most romantic playlist on this list, if that’s what you’re looking for. *winks*
The warm tones are equivalent to a good glass of red wine, without the alcohol. Win-win? I leave that up to you.
9 White Noise
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DWUZ5bk6qqDSy”/]”Welcome to the soothing hum…”
For those who don’t know what white noise is, it’s basically uniform background noise.
In the current market, you’ll find many sleeping-aid products that provide white noise as it’s a proved way to help people fall asleep.
But how does it work? All other (annoying) background noises blend in with the white noise. It tricks a person’s brain by mixing all of the outside noises into one noise in the background.
If you sleep lightly and wake up easily from noises, white noise might be what you’re looking for.
10 Tibetan Bowls
[spotifyplaybutton play=”spotify:playlist:37i9dQZF1DX3JNwc30ddaO”/]”A variety of soothing tones for healing and meditation”
If you don’t (or even if you do) own a Tibetan singing bowl yourself, this playlist is your second-best option for bringing in those healing vibes.
I simply love how this playlist raises the frequency of my home, it transforms the space into our temple. In addition, more than just hearing or listening to the sonic sounds of the bowls, you can feel the vibrations too.
Tibetan Singing Bowls have been used for centuries for healing and meditation purposes. They create a range of sounds to restore the normal vibratory frequencies of diseased and out-of-harmony parts of the body, mind, and soul. It harmonizes the entire home.
”I don’t have Spotify… Where else can I find relaxing music for sleep?”
I’m fully aware that not everybody has a Spotify account. And frankly, you don’t need one to be able to enjoy these genres of soothing music. All you need to know is how to find them and what to search for.
In this case, use YouTube or any other music streaming platform you’re comfortable with. You can find the music by using these keywords as an example (The keywords are also all links to You-Tube videos with that specific genre relaxing music for sleep 🙂 You’re welcome!)
